Mauricio Pochettino Sacked as Chelsea Manager
Chelsea announced the departure of Mauricio Pochettino
Pochettino left the club by mutual consent after just one season
Chelsea have announced the departure of manager Mauricio Pochettino by mutual consent after just one season in charge.
The Argentine manager joined the Blues in January 2023, replacing Thomas Tuchel. He led the team to a third-place finish in the Premier League and won the EFL Cup, but was unable to guide them to Champions League glory.
Chelsea's disappointing form in the latter stages of the season, which saw them lose out on the Premier League title to Manchester City and be knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid, led to speculation about Pochettino's future.
The club has now confirmed that Pochettino has left his role and that they will begin the search for a new manager.
