Chad Daybell Found Guilty in Zombie Murder Trial

Verdict Reached After Nearly Two-Month Trial

Daybell Convicted of Killing Ex-Wife and Stepchildren

Chad Daybell has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the deaths of his ex-wife, Tammy Daybell, and two stepchildren, Joshua "JJ" Vallow and Tylee Ryan. The verdict concludes a nearly two-month trial in St. Anthony, Idaho.

Daybell, a doomsday prophet, was arrested in 2019 after his wife's remains were found in their backyard. He was also charged with the murders of JJ and Tylee, whose bodies were found in a shallow grave on Chad's property.

During the trial, jurors heard testimony about Daybell's extremist beliefs and his involvement in a group that believed in the end of the world. Prosecutors argued that Daybell killed his family so that he could be with his current wife, Lori Vallow, who was also charged with the murders but has not yet faced trial.

The jury deliberated for eight days before reaching a verdict. Daybell faces the possibility of life in prison without parole when he is sentenced in January.
