Waldorf Native Airman Serves Aboard the Pride of the Fleet

Timothy Goldring Assigned to USS Ronald Reagan

A Waldorf native is serving aboard USS Ronald Reagan, the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, in support of maritime security operations in the Indo-Pacific region.

Hometown Hero: Timothy Goldring

U.S. Navy Airman Timothy Goldring is a 2022 graduate of North Point High School in Waldorf, Maryland. He is the son of Tiffany and Tim Goldring.

Goldring joined the Navy two months after graduating high school. He serves as an aviation boatswain’s mate (handling) aboard the aircraft carrier.

USS Ronald Reagan is the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5. The strike group is forward-deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.

As an aviation boatswain’s mate (handling), Goldring is responsible for directing aircraft on the flight deck during flight operations.

Goldring enjoys serving in the Navy. He said, “I like the opportunity to travel and see the world.”

After completing his tour of duty, Goldring plans to continue his education and pursue a career in aviation.

Goldring’s parents are proud of his service to his country. His father said, “We are very proud of Timothy and his accomplishments. He is a great role model for his younger siblings.”

Goldring’s mother added, “We are grateful for the opportunity he has to serve in the Navy. He is a true asset to our country.”
